This exhibition features approximately 100 photographs -- beginning with the era of the Beatles to 9/11 -- by New York-based, Scotland-born photographer Harry Benson. Divided into several sections, his photographs chart a fascinating course mapping the worlds of politics and culture, sports and celebrity.
Sections include "The British in America" with the Beatles, Germaine Greer, and Francis Bacon; "America in Crisis" with Martin Luther King, the Robert Kennedy assassination, Carl Bernstein, and Bob Woodward; "The Stars Come Out" with Barbra Streisand, Johnny Carson, and Greta Garbo; "The Mirror Cracked" with Johnny Cochran, Michael Jackson, and Mike Tyson; and "Twenty-first Century" with Rudy Giuliani, General Schwarzkopf, and George W. Bush.
Organized by the Scottish National Portrait Gallery.
