On view is a sequined football jersey dress designed in 1967 by Geoffrey Beene. Beene was a leader in American fashion from the 1960s until his death in September 2004. He was known for his use of luxurious materials, fine workmanship and originality of design, and his work rivaled the best of the French fashion houses.
