On view are nearly 200 examples of embroidered samplers from the Cooper-Hewitt collection. Included are samplers made during the 17th through the 19th centuries in all the countries of Western Europe as well as North Africa, China, and Sri Lanka, in addition to the U.S., Great Britain, and Mexico. Sewing tools augment the stitchery.
