Museum: Natural History Museum
Location: Winston Gallery of Geology, Gems, and Minerals Hall
The 41-carat Dresden Green Diamond, the largest natural green diamond in the world, is on view. Its history dates back to the early 1700s, when it was purchased by Friedrich Augustus I of Saxony. With the help of Ronald Winston of Harry Winston Inc., the diamond is on loan to the museum from the Dresden State Museum in Germany. This is the first time the object has been on view in America.
