Born in London and based in New York, painter Cecily Brown (b. 1969) uses vivid color and gestural brush strokes to create tension in her large abstract paintings. Her first solo museum show features 7 works, including the never-before-exhibited Dog Day Afternoon 1999, in which Brown's body markings are part of the composition.
