Museum: Freer Gallery of Art
Location: Gallery 18
On view are examples of 17th- and 18th-century Indian Mughal paintings and manuscripts from the collection of Colonel Henry Bathurst Hanna, an English military officer who assembled the collection in India during the last half of the 19th century. Charles Lang Freer purchased this superb collection in 1907. It includes important manuscripts produced during the reign of Akbar, portraits of Jahangir, and pages from the Jahangiri Album and the St. Petersburg Album.
