This exhibition explores the evolution of Chinese characters from ancient times to the present. Chinese script is one of the oldest written languages in the world and the only ancient language still in use today. Its intriguing characters, uniquely square in shape, have been used to denote objects and meanings for thousands of years.
Sponsored by the Chinese Embassy and the Smithsonian Institution.
