On view is a selection of recently acquired works on paper and cloth created during a phase that overlapped with the golden age of photography, including aquatints by British artists in India, Company School watercolors produced by "native" artists for British patrons, court paintings from kingdoms in Rajasthan, folk pictures related to story-telling traditions, south Indian temple hangings, and a modern oil on canvas.
