Location: 2nd Floor
Architecture and design of movie theaters built in the 1920s and 1930s is the subject of this major exhibit. On view are photos, posters, furnishings, and original artwork illustrating the extravagant architecture and sometimes gaudy designs of such buildings as the Roxy Theater and Radio City Music Hall in New York City; Grauman's Chinese and Pantages Theaters in Hollywood, as well as many lesser-known edifices through the U.S. A 20-minute film, made up of new and vintage still photos, commentary and interviews is included in the exhibition.
