To mark the Smithsonian's 150th anniversary, this 200-object exhibition focuses on 1846, the Institution's founding year. The exhibition features portraits, genre paintings, maps, political cartoons, broadsides, books, costumes, sheet music, and other memorabilia (including a doll belonging to Patty Reed, a survivor of the Donner party expedition).
